Russia’s Chukotka gold output rises 0.4% to 32 tns in 2015
VLADIVOSTOK, Jan 14 (PRIME) -- Gold production in Russia’s Chukotka peninsula increased 0.4% to 32.1 tonnes in 2015, the regional government said in a statement Thursday.
Silver production in the area increased 13% to 156 tonnes in the period.
Chukotka Mining and Geological Company produced 11 tonnes of gold and 131 tonnes of silver at the Kupol deposit.
Rudnik Karalveyem, owned by Israeli businessman Lev Leviev, produced 1.5 tonne of gold.
Valunisty Mine, controlled by Russian billionaire businessman Roman Abramovich’s Millhouse Group, made 1 tonne of gold and 6.9 tonnes of silver.
Gold and silver output from the Dvoinoye deposit stood at 12.5 tonnes and 18 tonnes respectively.
Polymetal International produced 3.9 tonnes of gold in concentrate at the Mayskoye ore-dressing plant
In 2014, Chukotka’s gold output grew 30% to 32 tonnes.
